[Written by TANKARD (Gutjahr/Zissel/Thorwarth/Geremia)]
I wake up in the toilets
Stinking of alcohol
Who am I? Can't remember
Ain't sure I wanna know
The beer stains on my clothing
Revealed by neon lights
They tell me every morning
Another thirsty night
A lover of bottles I am
Been born here, grew up here, I'll die here
The stuff in the sink is my brain
My father smelled offensive
My mother was a bitch
But it was love at first drink
They practiced what they preached
[Chorus:]
Beyond the pubyard - outside I've never been
Beyond the pubyard - my world's a drinker's dream
Beyond the pubyard - I live my life in gin
Beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond the pubyard
Hey barman, you're my hero
One thousand liqueurs stock
You make some crazy money
While drinking on the job
A lover of bottles I am
Been born here, grew up here, I'll die here
The stuff in the sink is my brain
I have no use for clean air
I don't like oxygen
The cigarette smoke preserved me
Just call me Boozer Man
[Chorus]
I have no use for clean air
I don't like oxygen
The cigarette smoke preserved me
Just call me Boozer Man
[Chorus]
Tankard is a thrash metal band from Frankfurt am Main, Germany, founded in 1982. After losing their guitarist because of their image as a bunch of drunks, they moved on to issue their first record in 1986. From that point on, the band has continuously made songs and records in the same style they started out with - fast metal songs in honor of alcohol. Thus they claim to have invented a new genre called "alcoholic metal". Tankard are self-proclaimed "Kings of Beer" in honour of the folkloric character Gambrinus.

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
Sweden and the United States are two countries far from each other, thousands of kilometers separate them, the language, culinary and sporting traditions, I don't feel so categorical about the landscapes, not knowing all of America there may be states that have the same reliefs of the country of northern Europe, but on one thing I am sure
