Paolo Cattaneo comincia la sua carriera pubblicando L'Anima del Cipresso che viene scelto come colonna sonora dalla coreografa Claude Gerster. Per alcuni anni Cattaneo collabora a diversi spettacoli (fra questi "Il sogno e la vita" di Francois Kahn), poi ritorna alla musica nel 2002 partecipando alla compilation Bandsyndicate con Paolo Benvegnù e Giovanni Ferrario. Del 2004 l'Ep Nero, con lui Hugo Race primo chitarrista e collaboratore di Nick Cave. Nel 2007 esce L'Equilibrio Non Basta, suo primo album ufficiale pubblicato da V2 Records, che cattura l'attenzione della critica per le atmosfere notturne e affascinanti. Con questo album partecipa a Generazione X insieme a Moltheni, Riccardo Sinigallia ed Emilio Clementi e apre i concerti di Perturbazione, Cesare Basile, Ivan Segreto, Hugo Race e Gianna Nannini. Nel 2009 il secondo intenso disco Adorami e Perdonami, prodotto insieme a Daniele Sinigallia con la collaborazione di Riccardo Sinigallia, pubblicato da Eclectic Circus e distribuito da Venus Dischi. Il videoclip Sei qui per me diretto da Daniel Marini vince il PVI (Premio Videoclip Italiano 2009) come miglior fotografia. E' direttore artistico di Voci Controvento, appuntamento dedicato alla nuova canzone d'autore, che ha avuto tra gli ospiti Marco Parente, Andrea Chimenti, Tricarico e Nada. Nel 2011 esce "Il Gioco", un progetto breve, leggero, curato ed originale, frutto di un forte cambiamento non solo compositivo ma anche sonoro e musicale di un artista solitamente crepuscolare e intimista che riscopre l'aspetto giocoso della musica. Questo EP è prodotto dall' Eclectic Circus di Stefano Clessi e arrangiato da Matteo Cantaluppi.
