72WST est l'abréviation de 72 west street. C'est un groupe de pop rock, marseillais composé de 4 musiciens : David, Emmanuel, Michael et Adrien. Toutes leurs chansons sont des compositions originales. Juin 2008, David et Emmanuel décident de créer une page myspace pour publier les quelques chansons qu?ils composent dans leur chambre. Deux mois plus tard, le désir d?un véritable enregistrement s?impose, David contacte un ami de la faculté de droit d'Aix, Adrien, qui deviendra le batteur du groupe. 3 chansons seront mises en ligne sur myspace et rencontreront un franc succès notamment la chanson Victoria. Après quelques concerts intimistes le groupe participe au festival Emergenza. Le groupe atteindra les demi finales. Le 1er tour se déroule le 29 janvier 2009 au Café Julien à Marseille, ou 72WST arrivera 4ème (sur 8) avec 57 voix. Au mois de Mars, 72WST signe un contrat de distribution numérique avec le label Imusician Digital. Le 1er EP sort sur toutes les plateformes le 28 avril de téléchargement numérique (Itunes, fnac, amazon, napster...). Cet EP est constitué de 3 chansons. Au mois de mai, après 11 mois d?existence, la page myspace a attirée plus de 5 000 personnes. Aout 2009, le groupe retourne en studio pour enregistrer son premier album. Composé de 10 chansons, il sort en novembre 2009 et rencontre un certain succès, comme en témoigne les concerts donnés à l'occasion de la promotion de ce 1er opus. Quelques extraits de cet album seront diffusés sur des radios locales (radio zinzine...), et le groupe est invité le 27 janvier 2010 dans l?émission Music à thème (radio JM) pour promouvoir le nouvel album et quelques concerts. Le 15 juin 2010 le groupe est invité dans l?émission Rock AixPress (radio Zinzine), toujours dans le cadre de la promotion de l'album. Début 2010 la page Myspace a attirée plus de 10 000 personnes. Après quelques concerts à l'étranger (Oxford, New York) le groupe retourne en studio en aout 2010 pour enregistrer 11 nouvelles chansons, dans le cadre d?un nouvel album. Ce nouvel album « Pachyderme World » sort le jeudi 17 Mars 2011. Il est disponible en téléchargement gratuit sur Bandcamp, et en écoute sur Deezer. On June 15th 2010 the group was invited as featured guests of the Rock AixPress Show (on Radio Zinzine) for an hour long interview and an acoustic session. In early 2010 the MySpace page has attracted more than 10,000 people worldwide. After a few concerts outside France (Oxford and New-York) the band returned to the studio in August 2010 to record 11 new songs, as part of a new album. This album, Pachyderme World, is out since March 17 2011 on iTunes.
