The Red House Painters are an American alternative rock band formed in San Francisco in 1988 by singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek. Their sound is characterized by melancholic and introspective atmospheres, influenced by American folk and indie music. Among their most representative songs are "Katy Song", "Grace Cathedral Park" and "Old Ramon's House". Kozelek has collaborated with other artists such as Joanna Newsom and The Decemberists.
