Renato Carosone (Naples, 1920 – Rome, 1975) was an Italian singer-songwriter, pianist, conductor and composer. Considered one of the fathers of modern Neapolitan music, he managed to combine traditional folk with jazz and swing influences, creating a new and contagious sound. His music, characterized by fast rhythms and catchy melodies, achieved enormous success in the 1950s and 1960s, contributing to the spread of Neapolitan musical culture throughout Italy. Among his most famous songs are "Tu vuo' fa l'americano", "Maruzzella" and "Sei bellissima".
