Ilema, real name Ilenia Mancini, is an Italian singer-songwriter born in Florence. Raised in the Isolotto neighborhood, her formation intertwines with diverse social and cultural experiences. After studying at the ISEF of Florence, she collaborates with the Italian Olympic Committee on inclusion and motor activity projects. Moving to London at twenty, she lives between Europe and the Middle East, deepening her study of body practices and working as a yoga teacher. In Qatar, she attends a women's cultural center, approaching the musical and choreographic traditions of the Gulf area. Back in Italy, she graduates in acupuncture and publishes the essay "How to Treat the Voice with Chinese Medicine", adopted in medical contexts. After several years working as a therapist, she moves to Rio de Janeiro, where she founds Tao Batuque, an educational project that combines yoga, percussion, and activities for children. Simultaneously, she resumes writing music, releasing the album "Cigana di Luna" in 2016 under the pseudonym Luna Rosa. In 2024, she officially debuts in Italy as Ilema with the single "Briciole di te", written in Rio de Janeiro and finalized in Florence under the artistic direction of Marco Falagiani. Her musical work is characterized by an essential line where writing dialogues with a research path on the body and the voice.
