I wrote you a letter, but I threw it away,
I knew I would, I would if I waited a day,
It made me feel better, what I had to say,
I knew it would, it did, but I waited.
I hardly bothered, though I laboured all day,
I work so hard, there's no time left to please you.
The day I decided I had nothing to say, I'll never learn,
I'm burning all this paper away.
(chorus)
A rhythym in your walking tree, it's a tapestry of pride your weaving,
Over, under, ropes of wonder, tie me to a chair.
I'm dirty feet on your clean white shoes, I'm the man of the mess that
Greets you, been graced with a slap in the face, tangled in your hair.
I think it's time you let me go,
I'm too in love, let me go,
I think it's time you let me go,
I'm too in love,
I think it's time you let me go,
I'm too in love, let me go,
(chorus)
I wrote you a letter, but I threw it away,
I knew I would, I would, if I waited a day,
It made me feel better, but I have to say,
I'll never learn, I'm burning all this paper away,
I'm burning all this paper away,
I'm burning all this paper.
Folk Implosion is an American indie rock duo formed in Boston in the early 1990s by Lou Barlow and John Davis. The project emerged as a parallel experimental endeavor alongside Barlow's work with Sebadoh, where he was already known for his introspective songwriting and catchy melodies. The band's name derives from a song by the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Folk Implosion's music is characterized by a blend of alternative rock, folk, and pop, with psychedelic and experimental influences. Their sound is often described as melancholic yet sunny, thanks to the use of catchy melodies and introspective lyrics that explore themes such as love, loneliness, and identity search. The band's debut album, "Take It Back", was released in 1994 and achieved modest underground success. Their most famous album is however "One Day As A Global Warning" (1996), which includes the single "Natural One", a radio hit thanks to its presence in the soundtrack of the film "Empire Records". After several years of activity, Folk Implosion disbanded in 2000. In 2018 they announced their return with a new album, "The New Folk Implosion", which was well-received by fans.
