Carmelo Amenta (1963-2018) was an Italian footballer who played as a defender. Born in Catania, he started his career in the youth sector of Catania Calcio, making his first team debut in 1981. After a season at Palermo, he played for several Serie B and C teams, including Taranto, Campobasso and Messina. In 1993 he moved to Acireale, where he ended his career in 1996.
