Nino Tempo, stage name of Antonino Lo Tempio (1930-2016), was an American musician of Sicilian descent known for his versatile style spanning jazz, pop, and rock. Born in New York to a musical family, Nino began playing the wind instrument at the age of seven. His musical career took off in the 1950s with the formation of "The Tempo Trio". In 1963 he achieved international success with the song "Deep Purple", a jazz-pop melody that became an enduring classic. Nino Tempo collaborated with numerous prominent artists, including Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., contributing to defining the musical evolution of the American landscape.
