The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American musical group formed in Long Beach, California in 1966. Considered pioneers of country rock, they have blended folk and bluegrass influences with more modern sounds, creating a unique and recognizable sound. Among the founding members are Jeff Hanna (vocals, guitar), Jimmie Fadden (drums) and John McEuen (mandolin, banjo).
