Guy Mitchell, stage name of Albert George Cernik (1917-2008), was an American singer, entertainer, and actor who achieved great popularity in the 1950s and 1960s. Born in New York to Czech immigrant parents, he began his career as a singer in vaudeville clubs before entering the world of popular music.
