Nicholas Teo, born Zhang Dong Liang, is a talented Malaysian singer. After studying in Taiwan, where he won the Best Singer award in a university competition, he declined an offer to sign a record deal as a backing vocalist for a group. Returning to Malaysia, he participated in the “2002 Astro Talent Quest” singing competition, winning with the song “Huáng Hun” (originally by Zhou Chuan Xiong). This success allowed him to sign with Taiwan's Music Street in 2003. His debut album, “?????”, was released on June 18, 2004. Music Street later merged with Warner Music. In 2006, Nicholas received the Best New Artist of Taiwan award at the 2006 Hito Awards. He successfully completed his “From Now On” tour, which took him to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia in the first six months of 2008.
