Susana Baca de la Colina (Lima, May 28, 1947) is a Peruvian singer-songwriter, musician, and political activist. Considered one of the most important figures in contemporary Latin American music, Baca has dedicated her career to preserving and promoting Peruvian musical traditions, particularly Afro-Peruvian ones. She began as a music teacher before dedicating herself to music full-time in the 1970s.
