Djam Karet is an American progressive rock band from California. Formed in 1984 by guitarists Gayle Ellett and Mike Henderson, bassist Henry J. Osborne, and drummer Chuck Oken Jr., the original lineup remains active to this day. The band's name comes from an Indonesian word that translates to "elastic time". Their sound is characterized by a blend of hard rock, jazz fusion, and progressive rock elements, with psychedelic and experimental influences. Djam Karet released several albums between the 1980s and 1990s, gaining a following in the underground progressive rock scene.
