Dalida (Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti), nata a Il Cairo il 17 gennaio 1933 e scomparsa a Parigi il 3 maggio 1987, è stata una cantante e attrice italiana naturalizzata francese. Considerata una delle più grandi voci del XX secolo, ha venduto oltre 170 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo. Dalida iniziò la sua carriera musicale negli anni '50, cantando canzoni italiane e francesi. Il suo successo internazionale arrivò con l'album "Salomé" (1968), che includeva il brano "Bambino", diventato un classico mondiale. Dalida ha collaborato con alcuni dei più grandi compositori del tempo, tra cui Charles Aznavour, Luigi Tenco e Ennio Morricone. La sua musica spaziava dal pop al jazz, passando per l'operetta e la chanson francese. Tra i suoi brani più famosi ricordiamo "Ciao amore ciao", "Parlez-moi d'amour" e "J'ai encore rêvé d'elle". Dalida ha interpretato anche diversi film, tra cui "La Belle de nuit" (1958) e "Il giorno della civetta" (1968). La sua vita personale è stata segnata da alti e bassi, tra amori tormentati e depressione. Nel 1987 si suicidò a Parigi all'età di 54 anni.
