Right down to it

Whoa yeah
She was down and out, had just enough
Of the things to keep a young girl alive
It was gettin' rough, but she soon got tough
To the fact of makin' sure she survived
She was out of luck, she didn't have a buck
So I laid it to her straight on the line
Get up for me baby
Come on we're gonna have a good time
My my baby, come on we're gonna have a good time
Over here
Sooner or later, girl, I will persuade ya
Just to gimme gimme gimme what you got
Well I don't have a lover, that would blow my cover
Come on and give some of your rock 'n' roll love
I was feelin' great, I didn't hesitate
So I looked the girl right in the eye
Baby baby baby, come on we're gonna have a good time
So I got right down to it
Sweet sixteen never looked so good before
You know I always knew it
But this time I knew better than before, oh dig it
You know I didn't say much, but I guess I said enough
Cause the two of us were doin' really good
When the sun came a risin', I was realizin'
That I had to have her with me if I could
I was feelin' great, I didn't hesitate
So I looked the girl right in the eye
Baby baby baby, come on we're gonna have a good time
So I got right down to it
Sweet sixteen never looked so good before
You know I always knew it
But this time I knew better than before
You know, I almost blew it
But she held me back away from the door
And we got right down to it, ooh, we did

Biografia

April Wine is a Canadian hard rock band formed in Waverley, Nova Scotia, in 1969. The founding members were Myles Goodwyn (vocals and guitar), David Henman (guitar), Ritchie Henman (drums) and Jim Henman (bass). Only Goodwyn has been part of the band throughout its history, while the other members have changed over the years. Success came with their second studio album *On Record* (1972), which spawned two major hits in Canada: «You Could Have Been a Lady» (a cover of the Hot Chocolate song) and «Bad Side of the Moon» (originally by Elton John). The band cemented its fame with their third album *Electric Jewels* (1974), which includes the hits «Just Like That», «Lady Run, Lady Hide» and «Weeping Widow». Most of April Wine's success dates back to the 1970s and early 1980s. During this period they released 12 studio albums and had numerous hit singles in Canada, touring primarily throughout the country. The band broke up in 1986 but reformed in 1992, going on to release four more studio albums. Currently, they continue to tour throughout Canada and the US.
