Silencio en la noche
ya todo esta en calma
el musculo duerme
la ambicion descansa
Meciendo una cuna
una madre canta
un canto querido
que llega hasta el alma
porque en esa cuna
esta su esperanza
Eran cinco hermanos
ella era una santa
eran cinco besos
de cada manana
Rosaban muy tierno
las ebras de plata
de esa viejecita
de canas muy blancas
Eran cinco hijos
que al taller marchaban
Silencio en la noche
ya todo esta en calma
el musculo duerme
la ambicion trabaja
Un clarin se oye
peligra la patria
y al grito de guerra
los hombres se matan
cubriendo de sangre
los campos de Francia
Hoy todo ha pasado
renacen las plantas
un himno a la vida
los arados cantan
Y la viejecita
de canas muy blancas
se quedo muy sola
con cinco medallas
que por cinco heroes
la premio la patria
Silencio en la noche
ya todo esta en calma
el musculo duerme
la ambicion descansa
un coro lejano
de madres que cantan
mecen en sus cuna
nuevas esperanzas...
Silencio en la noche
Silencio en las almas
Carlos Gardel, born Charles Romuald Gardès on December 11, 1890 in Toulouse, France, was a French-Argentine singer, actor, and composer. Considered one of the pioneers of modern tango, he significantly contributed to the global spread of this musical genre. Gardel moved to Argentina in 1913, where he began his artistic career. His characteristic vocal style, powerful and melodic, combined with his stage charisma, quickly made him popular with the Argentine public. He collaborated with important tango composers like José Razzano and Eduardo Bianco, performing classics such as "Mi noche triste", "El día que me quieras" and "Por una cabeza". Gardel died tragically in a plane crash in 1935 at the age of 44. His musical legacy continues to inspire generations of artists and his name remains synonymous with tango.
