John Mayall is a British blues musician from Macclesfield, England, considered one of the most influential in his genre. His ability to identify talented guitarists has made his band, The Bluesbreakers, a launchpad for many famous artists. In the 1960s Mayall played in London with several other bluesmen, some of whom formed his band. In 1965 Eric Clapton, ex-Yardbirds, joined the group, but soon left to be replaced by Peter Green. Bassist Jack Bruce entered and left again, being replaced by John McVie, before Clapton returned to replace Green. Mayall has released over 30 albums in his career, many of which have achieved international success. Among his most representative songs are "Room to Move", "Cross Road Blues" and "The Turning Point".
