Quicksilver Messenger Service è stata una band rock psichedelico americana formatasi a San Francisco nel 1965. Considerata uno dei gruppi più importanti della scena psichedelica della città tra la metà e la fine degli anni '60, la band era essenzialmente un gruppo di improvvisazione musicale (jam band). Quicksilver Messenger Service ha raggiunto grande popolarità nell'area della Baia di San Francisco e tra gli appassionati di rock psichedelico in tutto il mondo. Molti dei loro album hanno raggiunto le prime 30 posizioni delle classifiche Billboard Pop. Sebbene non siano stati commercialmente così di successo come i loro contemporanei Jefferson Airplane e The Grateful Dead, la band è stata fondamentale per l'inizio del genere.
