New Musik was a British musical group formed in London in 1977. The original lineup consisted of singer and keyboardist Tony Mansfield, guitarist Paul Gardiner, bassist David Rhodes, and drummer John 'Jingles' Jones. Their sound was characterized by a fusion of synth-pop, new wave, and progressive elements, influenced by artists like Kraftwerk and David Bowie. New Musik released two studio albums: their self-titled debut album in 1978 and "The Pleasure Principle" in 1980. Their most famous song is probably "On Islands", a single that achieved international success in 1979. Other representative tracks include "Twelfth House", "The Last Time I Saw You", and "I'm Not Your Man". After the release of "The Pleasure Principle", the group disbanded in 1982. Despite its short lifespan, New Musik left a significant mark on the history of electronic music of the 1970s and 1980s.
