Laura Nyro (1947-1997), pseudonimo di Laura Nigro, fu una cantautrice, compositrice e pianista statunitense. Considerata una delle più grandi artiste del folk rock degli anni '60 e '70, la sua musica era caratterizzata da melodie orecchiabili, testi poetici e un'ampia gamma vocale. ???? Nascita a New York da genitori italo-americani, iniziò a comporre canzoni all'età di 15 anni. Il suo album di debutto, *Laura Nyro*, uscì nel 1966 e ottenne subito successo grazie al singolo *I Feel the Sun*. Nel corso della sua carriera ha collaborato con artisti come Barbra Streisand (per la quale scrisse il brano *Happy Birthday*), Bette Midler e The Fifth Dimension.
