My man
I wanna be your bride

Cake Like was an all-women indie rock band active in the 1990s. Formed by Kerri Kenney-Silver (bass and vocals, then using her maiden name Kerri Kenney), Jody Seifert (drums) and Nina Hellman (vocals and guitar), the band debuted in 1993 after Kenney-Silver and Hellman met at New York University's Experimental Theater Wing. Their musical style, unique and original, is characterized by poetic lyrics accompanied by often chaotic guitar rock. Cake Like attracted the attention of John Zorn, who signed them to his Avant Records label, releasing their first LP. They were then produced by Ric Ocasek (former The Cars) and signed with Neil Young's Vapor Records, releasing two more albums. The band disbanded in 1999 when Kenney-Silver moved to Los Angeles. Besides music, all members of the group are active in the entertainment world: Kerri Kenney-Silver is known for her roles in TV series like 'The State', 'Viva Variety' and 'Reno 911!', Nina Hellman has acted in films like 'Wet Hot American Summer' and also works in theater, while Jody Seifert works in the fashion industry.
