I - Introduzione
(Lupita nasce e cresce in un paese dominato dalla guerra e dalla violenza)
Giocò nel mezzo degli anni della spada
nella Terra Centrale d'Occidente
conobbe il sogno del fucile e del pugnale
confusi nella stessa milonga
conobbe il sogno dei pesci fata
continuamente interrotto a metà.
Così conobbe i giorni
corrosi dalla lingua ramata di Castiglia
così vide la vite e la vigna
che non seppero l'acqua piovana
ma il peso scosceso del sole maestro.
Così vide paura di tramonti
così conobbe le notti simultanee e veloci
che il cuore perdeva
il suo posto centrale nel petto
nel sentore improvviso di fuoco
di spari - l'odore di grida appena svegliate
- di passi che scalzi scappando
non fanno rumore.
Conobbe il silenzio volgare e ruffiano
che copre la morteal mattino seguente
al muro del campo
uccelli e farfalle inchiodate.
II - Pulisci i fucili
(Dialogo della mamma e di Lupita vedendo arrivare i soldati a cavallo)
"Mamma qui gli uomini vengono e vanno
stivali affamati a cavallo"

puliscigli il sangue
dal collo del piede
domani ci dicono
torna la pioggia
domani vedrete
che passa la sete

III - La battaglia
(Il giorno in cui i soldati distrussero la casa e Lupita fuggì nel bosco)
Così vide il giorno
che il sole portava sentore
di vacche vive - di vacche morte
il vento depose alla porta
soldati senza più faccia
fu l'attimo lungo
che insieme alla luce del giorno
entrarono in molti
la casa di canne strozzata
dei colpi dell'arma improvvisa
che splende - che spezza
canzoni affamate
"Nasconditi ni¤a nel bosco
nasconditi ni¤a che mamma
è colpita - ferita -finita
nasconditi ni¤a nel bosco
nel mezzo dell'arco di pioggia
che sposta gli odori alle cose
nel mezzo del canto di uccelli

IV - Lupita nel bosco
Nel bosco ora piove
piove sulle piume dorate degli uccelli
sulle farfalle gialle della sera
sulla volatrice d'acqua
che attende - sentinella di anfratti.
La pioggia non rompe il silenzio
profumo di polvere - canne e battaglia
Lupita bagnata respira
è la pietra scolpita dal sasso.
V - L'incontro
(Nel bosco Lupita incontra un giovane soldato ferito)
E nel bosco incontrò il soldato
tra le foglie era là ferito
per tre giorni lei lo curò
per tre notti lo accarezzò
e gli toccò le ferite
e i capelli gli pettinò
per tre volte lo fece bere
che sotto il sole bruciava la sete
mentre lui giù si innamorava
dei suoi occhi di cielo chiaro.
Lui le disse parole nuove
non più fuoco, violenza e dolore
quante volte lui le parlò
per tante volte lei lo ascoltò.
VI - Il Soldato
(Il giovane disertore parla a Lupita della dolcezza di un mondo senza la guerra)

- non più bagliori di lame -coltelli - fucili
avrai il clamore delle fisarmoniche
avrai ogni dolcezza tramutata in bosco
ogni distanza sarà una pausa lieve

VII - L'amore di Lupita e del soldato
Insieme videro la bocca e la pioggia
