Elfen Lied is a seinen manga written and illustrated by Lynn Okamoto, serialized in Weekly Young Jump from 2002 to 2005. The story revolves around Lucy, a Diclonius mutant with telekinetic powers and two horns that make her unique. After escaping from a government laboratory where she was subjected to experiments, she finds herself in a hostile and dangerous world. Taken in by Kota and Yuka, a young couple who try to help her, Lucy will have to face her fears and dark past to survive. The manga has been collected in 12 tankobon volumes and also published in Italian by Planet Manga since October 20, 2012. Elfen Lied has achieved great international success thanks to its complex plot, well-developed characters and its dark and unsettling atmosphere.
