The Secret Handshake was a musical project by American singer and multi-instrumentalist Luis Alberto Dubuc, active from 2004 to 2011. Dubuc, originally from New York, composed and played all the instruments on the band's albums, characterized by an indie folk sound with psychedelic and progressive influences. The project came to light after his experience in other bands like The Black Angels and The Warlocks. The Secret Handshake's music was well-received by critics for its dreamlike atmosphere and enveloping melodies. Among the most representative tracks are "The Sun Is Setting", "I Don't Know What I'm Doing" and "You Are My Everything". Dubuc then continued his musical career as a solo artist, releasing albums under his own name.
