Quasimoto is the alter ego of hip hop producer Madlib, hailing from Oxnard, California. The musical project stands out for Quasimoto's high-pitched voice, similar to that achieved by inhaling helium. Another distinctive element is the constant vocal exchange between Quasimoto and Madlib. In a studio session, Madlib decided to rap over his own beats but didn't like the sound of his voice (his friends in Oxnard call him 'Barry White' for his deep voice).
