Danny's downs

On the day little danny arrived
His father stared and his mother cried
They knew his name but they didnt know why
He looked the way he did
This thing happens to other kids
How in the world are we gonna live
With a boy like that?

Doctor said, dans the first bad news
Second is his heart wont make it through
It must be fixed unless you choose
To send him back where he came
Starve the boy from his name
Just six short days of pain
Or maybe less

Chorus:
Dannys downs but love is up
Its been known to be more than enough
For more and more of us
Dannys downs but love is up

Im not that strong, his father said
The dreams are gone, the hopes have fled
Wont be long after hes dead
Well try again to find
The child we had in mind
Where the hell are those papers to sign?
And the man broke down

In a private room dannys mother wept
As an old jamaican woman swept
And not by chance their eyes met
(and she said)
Gods gifts are only good yknow
And there aint no love the lord cant grow
Aw honey, take that boy with ya when ya go
Back home

(chorus)

Its been eight years since the surgery
His sisters 5, his brothers 3
He goes to school and he knows how to read
He takes the bus home by himself
Puts his lunch pail back upon the shelf
And he hugs his momma till she melts
To the floor

Theyre more than a home, theyre a family
cause blood and bones are still souls ysee
And someones babys just another danny
And in the guest room in the back
Lives this old jamaican black
cause when you give a gift
God gives it back again.

(chorus)

Thank you because you correct this lyrics

Biografia

Peter, Paul and Mary is an American folk music trio formed in 1960 in New York City. Composed of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers, the group rose to fame in the 1960s for their folk-rock music, often featuring politically and socially conscious lyrics. Among their most notable hits are "If I Had a Hammer", "Blowin' in the Wind" (a cover of Bob Dylan), and "Leaving on a Jet Plane". Peter, Paul and Mary participated in numerous events for the American civil rights movement, such as the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963. Their musical style influenced generations of folk and rock artists, contributing to the spread of folk music throughout the United States and the world. After a hiatus in the 1970s, the group reunited on several occasions for concerts and recordings until 2018, when Mary Travers passed away.
