Fatboy Slim, the stage name of Quentin Leo Cook, is a British DJ, record producer and beatmaker born in Bromley on July 31, 1963. Also known as Norman Cook and The BPA (acronym for The Brighton Port Authority), he achieved international fame with his big beat style, an innovative fusion of hip hop, breakbeat, rock and R and B. Cook began his career in the 1980s as a member of the band The Housemartins, achieving success with songs like "Car Boot of Love". After the band's disbandment, he dedicated himself to music production and DJing, adopting the name Fatboy Slim in 1996. His debut album, "Better Living Through Chemistry", released in 1998, became a worldwide success thanks to tracks like "The Rockafeller Skank" and "Praise You".
