When I am gone and none remain
To clear your eye and know your pain
Carry on, little river sadness
To the void that has always been
I've been and always will be here
I've loved and I have missed you, dear
And the life that I once gave you
Is the life you've restored in me
If you, like I, should fear your heart
And be reduced to playing a part
Wish you'd be what only you can be
In spite of what you're told
The truths and lies you've kept within
The ecstasy in everything
Spill it all to the one who'll love you
It is truth, it is hope, it is unbelievable
Carry on, carry on
Cause I'll keep riding by your side
I see you're wronged, I see you fight
For the light that is left inside you
For your life, to the death
To the stars!
Until we break apart
Madrugada is a Norwegian rock band formed in 1997. The name, meaning 'dawn' in Portuguese and Spanish, reflects the band's melancholic and introspective sound. Madrugada's music falls within the realm of alternative rock, with influences drawn from post-punk and electronic music. The original lineup consisted of Sivert Høyem (vocals), Rune Grammond (guitar), Frode Jacobsen (bass) and Lars Horntveth (drums). The band released four studio albums: *The Deep End* (2001), *Give It a Rest* (2003), *The Golden Cage* (2005) and *Madrugada* (2007). Madrugada achieved commercial success in Europe, particularly in Norway, where they sold over 100,000 copies of their album *Give It a Rest*. The band disbanded in 2008 after an extensive world tour. Some of Madrugada's most representative songs include: 'Gloria', 'So Much for the Afterglow', 'The Sun' and 'Hands'.
