The Cross was a British rock band active from 1987 to 1993. Founded by Queen drummer Roger Taylor, the project emerged as a parallel collaboration alongside Queen, aiming to explore more experimental and less commercial sounds. The band's sound was characterized by a blend of hard rock, progressive rock, and psychedelic influences, with lyrics often introspective and poetic. Among the founding members were guitarist Pete Newdeck, bassist Phil Chen, and singer/guitarist Jason Bonham (son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham). The Cross released two studio albums: "The Cross" (1988) and "Mad, Bad and Beautiful" (1990), both well-received by critics. The band disbanded in 1993 due to creative and personal differences.
