Tune-Yards is an American musical duo formed in 2006 by Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Garbus, originally from New Canaan, Connecticut, launched the music project which later saw the addition of multi-instrumentalist Brenner as an official member in 2009. Their sound is characterized by a unique blend of indie pop, electronic music, and folk, with lyrics often ironic and introspective.
