I was just standing, turning around
That's when they caught me headin' down
Keep on going don't look away
That's what they tell me, that's what they say
OOOOh, OOOh, OOOOh
Yeah, that's what they tell me, that's what they say
You're a pretty thought I support
Yeah, I'm just tryin' to hold up as I go
And one day I swear I'll spread my wings
I'm on my way to finer things
OOOOh, OOOh, OOOOh
I'm on my way to finer things
It wasn't just me playin' those games
Still it's my own fault just the same
I opened up, I let you in
Now these crystal feelings are wearing thin
OOOOh, OOOh, OOOOh
I opened up, I let you in
I'm walkin' with the fortune teller
I can see my own way home
But I don't like this dark road anymore
And I don't want to be alone for long
OOOOh, OOOh, OOOOh
Don't want to be alone for long
I don't want to be on this dark road alone?
Calexico is an American musical group of Americana and alternative country genres, formed in Tucson, Arizona. The two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, began playing together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. The band has recorded numerous albums for the Quarterstick Records label, while their 2005 EP *In the Reins*, a collaboration with Iron and Wine, reached the Billboard 200 charts. Calexico's musical style is influenced by traditional Latin American sounds of mariachi, conjunto, cumbia and Tejano, as well as Southwestern United States country music, '50s-'60s jazz and '90s-'00s post-rock. They have also been described as indie rock. The band's name derives from the town of Calexico, California.
