Gli UMMO nascono nel dicembre del 2012 da un'idea del cantante e compositore Cristiano Romanelli: scrivere canzoni che prendessero spunto da vari generi musicali miscelandoli tra loro. Ad accompagnarlo in questo folle esperimento tre musicisti e amici: alla batteria Federico Di Simone, al basso Gregory Coniglio e alla chitarra Cristian Sorrenti. Il 25 dicembre 2014 esce il primo album omonimo che segna anche l'inizio del CONTACT TOUR 2015 che li ha vede protagonisti in piazze e live club italiani. Grazie al successo dei primi due singoli "DESTINO" e "MALINCONIA", nel Gennaio 2016 arriva nelle radio il terzo singolo della band "SINDROME". Nel 2016 parte anche il MANICOMIO TOUR e vengono scelti per l'apertura ufficiale dei concerti del rocker italiano Pino Scotto con i Rocky Horror. A Novembre del 2016 inizia una collaborazione artistica con il Direttore d'orchestra Maria Gabriella Ciaffarini e l'Ensamble orchestrale Sinergie D'arte. I brani degli UMMO vengono rivisitati in chiave classica durante un'importante rassegna barocca "Barock". Questo esperimento ha dato vita ad un progetto più grande: 413.44 MHZ TOUR. Nella rinomata rassegna musicale ESTATICA 2017 gli UMMO sono accompagnati da un'orchestra di musica classica di venti elementi e dal gran coro polifonico (Le Voci Del Borgo) per uno spettacolo sold out. A Maggio del 2017 gli Ummo vengono selezionati per la finale della trentesima edizione di Sanremo Rock. A luglio 2017 esce il quarto singolo "CONSUMAMI". A settembre 2017 il gruppo entra nel Busker Studio a Reggio Emilia (Ligabue-Rio-Emma Marrone-Blastema-Cristiano De Andrè e molti altri) per registrare il secondo album dalle sonorità rock più anni novanta, ma senza rinnegare quella vena elettronica che li ha sempre caratterizzati. A Gennaio 2018 è iniziato il PLASTICA TOUR che ha visto la band ancora in giro per lo stivale! All'inizio di luglio esce il singolo "PLASTICA". A Settembre e Ottobre 2018 gli Ummo partono per il loro primo tour europeo che li ha visti protagonisti in dieci date tra Austria, Slovacchia, Repubblica Ceca, Ungheria e Polonia. Ad Aprile 2019 si sono aggiudicati la vittoria di AREZZO WAVE, risultando la migliore band della regione Abruzzo. Da maggio 2019 è ripresa ufficialmente la nuova stagione dei live estivi che li ha visti di nuovo protagonisti in festival e club italiani. Nel frattempo a Giugno 2019 viene lanciato in radio "COME UN ALIENO". A novembre gli Ummo hanno partecipato alla finalissima nazionale del SUD WAVE 2019 ad Arezzo, insieme alle migliori realtà indipendenti del panorama italiano musicale. A giugno 2020 è uscito il nuovo singolo della band dal titolo "BLU". Il videoclip porta la firma del regista Giovanni Bufalini, ed è un omaggio gioioso alla musica, alla danza e all'amore per il Cinema del passato. Da Luglio 2020 sono ospiti ufficiali in varie finali nazionali: 35a edizione di Sanremo Rock, e impegnati ad aprire i concerti di Finaz e Nuto (Bandabardò), Maestro Pellegrini (Zen Circus), Pierpaolo Capovilla (Il Teatro degli Orrori) e molti altri. L'uscita di "GODIMI" il nuovo singolo è l'11 Giugno 2021 e sarà distribuito da Universal Music.
