Megaherz is a German industrial metal band formed in Munich in 1993. The name, a pun on the term "megahertz", evokes the idea of a powerful and pulsating heart. The group gained some notoriety in Germany thanks to their debut album *Wer Bist Du?* (1995), which includes the cult track "Gott sein". Megaherz is known for using lyrics often inspired by classic German fairy tales, such as "Rapunzel" from *Kopfschuss*, "Windkind" from *Himmelfahrt* and "I.M Rumpelstilzschen" from *Herzwerk II*. Some of the band's most representative tracks include also "Die Welt ist kalt", "Der Tanz der Toten" and "Schwarze Sonne".
