I am yours.
However distant you may be,
There blows no wind but wafts your scent to me,
There sings no bird but calls your name to me.
Each memory that has left it's trace with me
Lingers forever as a part of me.

Derek and the Dominos were a blues rock supergroup formed in spring 1970, consisting of guitarist and singer Eric Clapton, keyboardist Bobby Whitlock, drummer James Beck "Jim" Gordon, and bassist Carl Radle. The latter trio had already played with Clapton in Delaney and Bonnie. The name "Derek and the Dominos" was chosen by Clapton in honor of a childhood friend, Derek Taylor, who worked as a manager for Apple Records. The group recorded one album, the legendary *Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs*, released in 1970. The album is considered one of the masterpieces of blues rock and contains some of Clapton's most famous songs, including "Layla", "Bell Bottom Blues" and "Why Does Love Always Seem to Go Wrong". The band disbanded after a short tour due to internal tensions and substance abuse. Jim Gordon's death in 2023 marked the definitive end of the group.
