Daniel Quine Auerbach (born February 14, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer, best known as the co-founder and frontman of the blues rock duo The Black Keys. Born in Akron, Ohio, Auerbach began his musical career at age 16, forming The Black Keys with Patrick Carney in 2001. Their sound, characterized by intense blues guitar riffs, infectious rhythms, and direct lyrics, quickly gained a devoted following. Auerbach is considered one of the most influential guitarists in contemporary rock music, renowned for his virtuosic technique and unique style. Besides his work with The Black Keys, Auerbach has collaborated with numerous artists, including Lana Del Rey, Dr. John, and The Arcs. He also founded Easy Eye Sound recording studio in Nashville, Tennessee, where he produces music for other artists. Some of The Black Keys' most representative songs include "Lonely Boy", "Gold on the Ceiling", and "Tighten Up". The album "Brothers" (2010) marked a turning point in the duo's career, reaching number one on American charts. Auerbach has been nominated for numerous Grammy Awards, winning two.
