Rodney Crowell is an American singer-songwriter and record producer born in 1950. Considered one of the pillars of contemporary country music, he has infused the genre with a vein of sophistication and introspective sensitivity. He began his career as a session musician in Nashville in the 1970s, collaborating with artists such as Emmylou Harris and Johnny Cash. In 1978, he released his self-titled debut album, followed by successes like "I Ain't Living Long Like This" (1980) and "Diamonds and Dirt" (1988).
