Biografia

Marco Albani, chitarrista e compositore, nasce a Roma. Muovendosi sulla sottile linea di confine tra Jazz acustico e World Music, le sue composizioni, ricche di sonorità mediterranee, africane e sudamericane, comunicano idee e sensazioni, con un linguaggio diretto che coinvolge emotivamente l'ascoltatore. Un percorso personale di sperimentazione e contaminazione tra ritmi e melodie del mondo, con suggestioni provenienti da diverse culture, con grande attenzione agli arrangiamenti ed al suono d'ambientazione. Pubblica nel 2006 l'album "Chronos", che riscuote immediati consensi da parte della critica specializzata. Nel 2010 esce il secondo album "Encuentro", un appassionato viaggio nel cuore della musica latino-americana. Alla produzione partecipano artisti di livello internazionale quali: Maurizio Giammarco, Marco Siniscalco, Rocco Zifarelli, Gianni Iorio, Carlos Sarmiento, Gnu Quartet, Raul Scebba, Umberto Vitiello, Sanjay Kansa Banik e Roland Ricaurte. L'album permette all'artista di raggiungere un più vasto consenso di pubblico. Marco è ospite di Brasil su RAI Radio1, dove suona in diretta, e di Etnobazar su Radio Capodistria. Con il Marco Albani Project partecipa nel 2010 al Villa Celimontana Jazz Festival di Roma e nel 2011 al Casa del Jazz Festival sempre a Roma. Partecipa con il Marco Albani Acoustic Quartet alle edizioni 2013 e 2014 del Jazzit Fest di Collescipoli (Terni). Dopo un periodo di ricerca interiore, pubblica nel 2021 il concept-album "Kallaama", incontro tra la melodia chitarristica e la vocalità maschile e femminile. Kallaama - in lingua Wolof - significa Linguaggio: quello universale della Musica, che va oltre i confini, le tradizioni e le culture. Un crossover stilistico testimoniato dalla presenza di autori ed interpreti di livello internazionale e di stili differenti quali Frances Alina Ascione, Kaw Sissoko, Andrea Sanchini, Umberto Vitiello, Clea Scala, Carla Cocco e Velka-Sai, oltre al noto sassofonista argentino Javier Girotto che, come voce "ultima" del disco, interpreta al sax soprano il brano conclusivo, condividendone la scrittura.
