Alcest is a French musical project founded in 1999 in Bagnols-sur-Ceze by Neige, Aegnor and Argoth. Initially oriented towards black metal, the group released a demo in 2001. Alcest is considered one of the pioneers of the "blackgaze" genre, which blends elements of black metal and shoegaze. Neige is the only stable member of the group, collaborating with various musicians for recordings and concerts. Among the most representative songs are "Souvenirs d'un autre monde", "Écailles de Lune" and "Autre Temps". The debut album "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" (2007) is considered a turning point for the band, marking the beginning of their journey in blackgaze.
