Skunk Anansie is a British rock band formed in London in 1994. The group, consisting of Skin (vocals), Ace (guitar), Cass (bass) and Mark Richardson (drums), achieved international success in the 1990s with a unique sound that blends heavy metal, funk, blues, punk rock, reggae and hip hop. Skunk Anansie's lyrics often address political themes such as social justice, female empowerment and the fight against discrimination. Skin, a charismatic and iconic figure with her provocative style, is considered one of the most powerful voices in British rock. Skunk Anansie disbanded in 2001 but reunited in 2009 with a new lineup and continued to produce music until today.
