Endlich bricht die Schrift entzwei, das Tor zum Meer ist aufgetan:
In das Licht, gedankenlos, die Probe stellt sein Wissen bloß!
Ist er noch Kind? - Ihr Edleren, ich will verletzbar sein!
Ist es ihm ernst oder enttäuscht er uns? - Ich such' nach Träumen jede Nacht!
Er weiß bestimmt... - Ich glaube fest daran...
...nicht, daß das Sehen doch so einfach ist! - ...daß meine Wiege so nicht stehen kann!
Das Orchester des Schreckens spielt für mein Grauen auf,
Streicht die Bögen auf und nieder wie die Krähen ihr Gefieder
In den rauhreifschwang'ren Weiden, die verliebt wie Ketten rasseln,
Und ihr Ächzen wirbelt um mich wie das Laub!
Dort am Ufer dieser Kakophonie trifft mein Blick den ihren,
Ahnend flieh'n die Wolken schneller, ihre Stimme wird schon heller,
Der Blitze flinkes Silber skizziert Angst in mein Gesicht,
Als sie lächelnd und mit Güte zu mir spricht:
"Eine neue Nacht wartet auf uns!"
Sie zerrt mich in die Anderswelt,
Fernab von meinen Sorgen!
"Wir fahren heut' zum Himmel auf!
Der Alptraum läßt uns glücklich sein,
Für uns gibt es kein "Morgen" mehr!"
Ich schneide mich auf...
Ich ertränke meine Sehnsucht in dem Blut Deiner Gedanken,
Mein Körper spielt deren Melodai
Auf einer Orgel, um die sich Schädel ranken!
In der toten Kathedrale dort, wo Dämonen Rosenasche spei'n:
Sie stand, sie steht und wird noch steh'n
Nach 1000 Jahr'n im selben Schein!
Soll das wirklich alles sein?
Mein Herz steht immer noch nicht still!
Und auch mein Haar ist nicht ergraut...
...Entsetzen ist das, was ich will!
