40 ans de dictature
Sous le silence de nos drapeaux
40 ans à la dure
Sous les yeux des occidentaux
Qui partent en vacances en Tunisie
Prendre des photos d'Alexandrie
Et qui d'un coup semblent surpris
Au réveil du peuple endormi
[Refrain]
Merci egyptiens
Merci tunisiens
Merci pour ce doux réveil
Qui au fond de nous nous rappelle
Que la démocratie
C'est la rue qui l'a choisie
à Tripoli ou Alger
Le peuple va décider
40 ans de vie austère
Sous l'oeil rigide des militaires
40 ans dans la misère
Sous corruption de fonctionnaires
Qui décident si tu te loges
Si tu travailles, si tu déroges
Si tes enfants auront le droit
D'avoir du pain pour leur repas.
[Refrain]
40 ans de silence
40 ans de misère
40 ans que la France
N'enlève pas ses oeillères
Que les intérêts africains
Pour la France valent bien plus cher
Que le bonheur des êtres humains
Qui habitent sur ces terres
A présent reconstruire
Une liberté, un pays
A présent quel devenir
Et quelle histoire en Tunisie
Pour que les femmes puissent sourire
Que les droits d'l'homme puissent grandir
Et que ce passé abolli
Ne revienne pas dans l'avenir
[Refrain]
