Chris Caffery is an American guitarist born in 1965, known for his virtuosic and melodic style. He gained international fame as a founding member of the legendary power metal band Savatage, with whom he collaborated from 1987 to 2002. During this period, Caffery helped define the band's musical identity, characterized by heavy riffs, epic melodies, and narrative lyrics. After the dissolution of Savatage, Caffery joined the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), a rock orchestral project led by composer Paul O'Neill. With TSO, Caffery has contributed to creating epic and multimedia musical shows, characterized by complex orchestral arrangements and impactful live performances. Besides his work with Savatage and TSO, Caffery has collaborated with numerous artists, including Yngwie Malmsteen and Michael Romeo. He is also a respected composer and music producer.
