Mary Chapin Carpenter is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1958 in Princeton, New Jersey. Known for her introspective songwriting and warm, reassuring voice, she achieved great success in the 1990s with albums like "Time*Sex*Love" (1992) and "Stones in the Road" (1994).
