[egyptian]
my journey's over
I'm standing on the edge
and close my eyes
to this world of lies
my will is broken
it's the end of all my dreams
my soul yearns
for the valley of the queens
my rose has withered
it will never bloom again
the soil is dry
time has come to die
my faith has left me
they've stolen all my dreams
oh lay me down
in the valley of the queens
my search has ended
my name is carved in stone
on the temple wall
beyond Osiris hall
no holy sunrays
will light my tomb of dreams
I won't return
from the valley of............the queens
Ayreon is a progressive rock music project founded in 1995 by Dutch composer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Lucassen, a talented composer and multi-instrumentalist, conceived Ayreon as a narrative concept album where different voices sing the roles of imaginary characters within a complex science fiction story. The first album, "The Final Experiment", was released in 1998 and marked the beginning of a unique musical journey that has seen the participation of numerous guest artists from all over the world. Among Ayreon's most representative songs are "The Day the World Stops Turning" and "Starseed", both taken from the album "Universal Migrator Part 1: The Journey". Other important albums include "01011001", "The Theory of Everything" and "Transitus", which have consolidated Ayreon's position as an innovative and critically acclaimed musical project. Lucassen, with his ability to create complex and engaging musical worlds, has contributed to defining the contemporary progressive rock genre.
