Giusy Ferreri is an Italian singer-songwriter born in Palermo in 1984 and raised in Abbiategrasso. She has been dedicated to music since childhood, composing her first songs during adolescence. In 1993 she began her musical career collaborating with various musical groups. In 2002, she signed a chillout track titled "Won't U be" with the AllState51 for the compilation "Chillout Masterpiece". In 2005, under the stage name Gaetana, she released the single "Il party", which also includes the song "Linguaggio immaginario". The single was submitted for the Sanremo Nuove Proposte 2005 selections but was not selected. In 2006, she participated in the Sanremo Festival with the song "La mia storia" and achieved great success. Her debut album, "Giusy Ferreri", released the same year, reached gold status in Italy.
