Biografia

Pierre Corneille (1606-1684) was a French playwright considered one of the most important figures of the 17th century, alongside Molière and Racine. Born in Rouen, he distinguished himself for his successful plays, characterized by a classical structure, incisive dialogues, and memorable characters. Among his most famous works are *Le Cid*, *Polyeucte* and *Horace*. Corneille was influenced by Greek-Roman classicism and Cartesian philosophy, which influenced his worldview and writing style.
