I feed from the fruit of lairs
Dream of sleep but never grow tired
Waist high in reminders of you
Drown myself like a fish out of water
Tell myself that I'm not but I'm gonna
Track you down and flush you out for the kill
Inside voices are screaming
My eyes never stop bleeding from the sight of you breaking me down
How will I know if you're waiting for me there
Or if you're gone? (...don't leave me here)
How can you sleep at a time like this, wake up
And come with me
We have awakened
(..recite these words to yourself)
'Till you become
(...the ugly truth you know so well)
Pig, pig, that's what I called you
Roll in shit that spews from your mouth
You coward (coward!), you're a fucking fake
Pinch myself realize that I'm dreaming
Wake up sweating and the room's still spinning
Tumble, trip; never stop falling down
Sinking backward into the darkness
Scorched by the flames of regret
Pull me out of the burning fire
How will I know if you're waiting for me there
Or if you're gone? (...don't leave me here)
How can you sleep at a time like this, wake up
And come with me
The Killing Tree are a metalcore band from Chicago, Illinois. The project was born from the idea of Tim McIlrath, frontman of Rise Against, as a side project. The current lineup includes Tim McIlrath (vocals), Todd Mohney (guitar), Geoff Reu (bass) and Timothy Remis (drums). Although they haven't reached the same popularity as Rise Against, The Killing Tree have gained a loyal following thanks to their aggressive yet melodic sound. Their debut album, "The Killing Tree", was released in 2007.
