You keep burning me
Like you do your bridges
You rip me open, sew me up
And then you tear out the stitches
I don’t want to know
What happens when you go
You’ll find out that I found out
And I’ll tell myself I told you so
When everyone just wanted to love you
A sign of your respect
An ounce of truth
Now everyone just wants
To cut you loose
To stop and lick their wounds
It’s late at night and I shouldn’t be
But I call you from the city
Say where you are it’s nice and bright
And I should come but I’m so/too busy
And I won’t want to know
The reasons when we meet
Why you feed the cycle you repeat
When everyone just wanted to love you
A sign of your respect
An ounce of truth
Now everyone just wants
Now everyone just wants
Now everyone just wants
To cut you loose
To stop and lick their wounds
Change a comin’ soon
Change a comin’ soon
