Pagoda, pseudonimo di Giacomo Asti, cantautore di Parma. Nel 2019, dopo anni trascorsi ad ascoltare dischi e a suonare stabilmente nei locali della propria città, decide di assecondare la propria indole per la scrittura, iniziando a comporre canzoni in italiano. Nell’estate del 2021 entra in studio per lavorare al suo primo album. Il disco, registrato da Davide Chiari e Simone Piccinelli presso La Buca Recording Club di Montichiari, vede la partecipazione di musicisti di prim’ordine, tra cui Leonardo Barbieri (Strato’s), Leonardo Cavalca (Cubo di Rubik), Nicolas De Francesco (Lassociazione, Casa del Vento), Emanuele Nidi (cantautore), Domiziana Pelati (AyahuascA) e Lorenzo Zambini (Livermore). L’8 ottobre dello stesso anno esce il suo primo singolo, “Madeleine”, accompagnato da un video diretto da Michele Delmonte. Pochi giorni dopo ha l’onore di aprire il concerto di Steve Wynn (storico leader dei Dream Syndicate) a Parma. Nei mesi successivi escono altri due singoli, “In un modo o nell’altro” e “San Lorenzo”. Il 18 febbraio 2022, esce il disco: “Amerigo Hotel”. Le influenze musicali variano dalle melodie pop dei Belle and Sebastian all'indie americano dei R.E.M., dal classic-rock di Tom Petty e the Heartbreakers all'alternative-folk dei Wilco, dal Paisley Underground dei Dream Syndicate al country-folk di John Prine. Il tono è diretto, candido, colloquiale, gracile, leggero, irrequieto e ironico. Le figure descritte all’interno delle canzoni sono spesso alle prese con situazioni di vita quotidiana (rapporti di coppia, famiglia, amicizie, lavoro) e trasmettono con sincerità le loro insoddisfazioni, paure e speranze.
